My goal is to cultivate a safe and compassionate therapeutic environment that welcomes the full spectrum of human experience. As a systemically oriented therapist, I value the wisdom that emerges from attending to every layer of life — the nervous system, the body, relationships, community, spirituality, and the larger systems that shape each person’s reality. With a foundation in social justice, I aim to offer a space for healing that centers liberation and invites an exploration of the ways systems and narratives affect our lives. As a queer therapist, I especially value working with queer and trans clients, as well as those exploring identity, polyamory, and the many layers of sex and intimacy.
With collaboration and curiosity at the center of my work, I trust in your innate wisdom and support you in moving toward your vision of growth. Therapy can be challenging, but through open reflection we can gently explore and transform the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I draw from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused approaches, and somatic practices, tailoring my methods to fit your individual needs. My years of experience working with children and adolescents allow me to offer developmentally attuned support for young people as they navigate life’s changes. I also work with individuals, relational clients and families navigating life transitions, grief, trauma, parenting, loss, relationship issues, neurodiversity, anxiety, OCD, and depression.
Reaching out for support takes immense courage, and I am grateful you are here. Whether you are seeking relief, insight, connection, or simply a place to be seen, I am here to provide compassion and reflection as you take this next step in your journey.

The inevitability of change in our lives and relationships brings with it a tumultuous tide of events that can leave anyone feeling lost and alone. the energy spent on that change can take a toll in every aspect of our lives, and especially on our relations. In these times it can be vital to seek a safe harbor in therapy and to find solid ground.
I draw influence and structure from Gestalt, Narrative and IFS models of therapy while also pulling from somatic theory. In plain language, that means that I value the story being told (and untold) about your experience and seek to expand your wellness in a holistic manner which includes aspects of your mind, body, and spirit.
I work with teens, couples, Queer folks, and nonmonogamous systems of all flavors. These are communities that are incredibly important to me. I also am interested in working with those who have trauma or are neurodiverse. Lastly, with a background in crisis, I am confident in my ability to support individuals with challenging issues.
Beginning therapy can feel impossible, and one of the hardest parts can be finding the right therapist for you. Please reach out if you have any questions about my background. I would love to meet with you and discuss how we can work together and meet your goals of wellness!

Halito, my name is René Wilson McCaul (they/them). My style of therapy was born from my own healing through cultural identity work. As a therapist, I am influenced by an eclectic mix of humanistic approach including narrative therapy, solutions-based therapy, somatics, animism/paganism and my Native relational-based approach. As a drama therapist, clients have the opportunity to connect to ritual, rites of passage, role-play, creative expression and embodiment as portals to a deeper connection to self and community. I bring 30 years of stage and film experience to my role as a creative therapist. I believe humor is one of the greatest medicines.
I enjoy working with Highly Sensitive People (HSP), creative people, neurodivergent people, the disability community, those with complex trauma, the kinky/sex work/sex+ communities, the polyamory community, the Two Spirit/IndigiQueer/LGBTQ+ communities, and BIPOC.
I bring an empathetic, curious, respectful presence to my clients by offering an anti-oppression, culture and trauma informed style from within a White-passing/mixed race, Two Spirit, Queer, Trans masculine, neurodivergent, disabled body. I provide affirming care to those living within targeted populations. This affirming work centers targeted populations such as BIPOC, immigrants, disabled, Two Spirit/IndigiQueer/LGBTQ+, polyamorous/unique relationship structured families, and Kink/BDSM and sex work communities. As a member of these targeted populations myself, I understand and empathize with our shared struggles in an oppressive world and am committed to undoing White Supremacy.
Currently, I am working towards my MA in Couple and Family Therapy with Drama Therapy from Antioch University Seattle and hold a BFA in Theater from Southern Methodist University. I am an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Yakoke for reading!
