Alena Honda (They/Them)
Hello, and congratulations on taking one of the first steps toward mental wellness. My name is Alena Honda (they/them) and I would be honored to work with you. As a systemic and multi-cultural thinker, I approach therapy by considering the many interconnected parts of your life, with the goal of supporting a sense of well-being that feels personal and meaningful to you.
I view my therapeutic approach as a flexible toolbox rather than a one-size-fits-all model, recognizing that each person’s experiences and needs are unique. While my work is integrative, I often draw from the Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Identity Therapy.
I work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds but have experience supporting neurodiverse, queer, and/or geeky individuals, as well as family systems in all their diverse forms. With everyone that comes into my office, I strive to create a welcoming, affirming space rooted in unconditionally positive regard and deep curiosity. As a lifelong Washingtonian, I am passionate about serving my community and offering a therapeutic space that challenges, affirms, and validates your lived experiences.
I am currently pursuing my MA in Couples and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle and hold a BA in English with a Creative Writing Emphasis from Western Washington University. You may also find me as the Content Manager at Psychology in Seattle Podcast, where I review audio episodes before they are published.
