Mattise Wood (She/They)
As a queer person myself, I recognize the complexities that accompany each intersecting identity you carry into the therapeutic process, and I prioritize honoring these beautiful parts of you through cultural humility and respect. I enjoy working with and providing affirming care to LGBTQIA+ folx, BIPOC folx, neurodivergent and autistic folx, those in the disabled community, those with complex trauma, and clients who practice ethical non-monogamy and polyamory. I am an innately curious and empathetic practitioner who works through an anti-oppression, sex-positive, and trauma-informed lens.
I'm both a systemic therapist and drama therapist, I am influenced by a variety of practices that incorporate creative and somatic processes – including role-play, narrative therapy, improvisation, sociodrama, sculpting, and more. The therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful vehicle for healing, and I place great value on building a genuine relationship.
I believe that everyone deserves a safe and welcoming therapeutic space to be vulnerable through the process of healing and growth. With each unique client or couple, I strive to meet you exactly where you are – with warmth and unconditional positive regard.
